With depression, sometimes you're working harder just to do what you used to do and be what you used to be. To project some semblance of "normal" to the world around you. You're expending so much energy just to project even just a portion of the energy that you used to. But you don't get recognition for the extra work that you put in to do those daily tasks. To get out of bed. To do the laundry. To be with your friends. The lack of acknowledgement is sometimes the hardest because you're working the hardest you have in your life. But I want to acknowledge you. I see you. You are working so hard even when you feel like you're failing. You got out of bed and that is amazing. You went to class, even if you could only just sit there, and that is so much strength. You called up a friend to have them sit and talk with you and that is so much initiative for your well-being. You are working so hard, and if no one else is there to say it, I will. I hope you will really believe me when I say, "I see you and you are incredible. You are not the type of strong that people expect, no, you are much more than that. It is not effortless strength, but I see you working so so hard to do 'that thing' and heal yourself. You are amazing. You are human. You are simply incredible and stunning in worth."
