I don't think I was ever suicidal but I was in a place for a long time where I didn't care if I died. Not that I was ever going to do anything about it but I just didn't care if I got cancer from cigarettes, died from alcohol poisoning, or some other way. I guess for a long time I didn't realize that was depression. I thought since I wasn't trying to kill myself I couldn't be depressed.
